LUNCH AND LEARN WORKSHOPS
OSCIL will be hosting Lunch & Learn Workshops entitled “Recreational Opportunities for People with Disabilities” on Wednesday, June 27th at their Warwick office at 1944 Warwick Ave and Thursday, June 28th at their Pawtucket office located at 175 Main Street. Both workshops run from 12-2 p.m.
· Don Wright of Button Hole Golf will give a presentation about their accessible golf course and programs geared to people with disabilities. – Warwick & Pawtucket
· Come and join representatives of Rock Spot Climbing for a discussion on the progression and rise providing adventure experiences for all through creation and implementation of adaptive programs. – Warwick & Pawtucket
· Ken Barthelemy of the Lion’s Sight Foundation VIP Fishing Tournament will discuss both the RI & the National VIP Tournaments and will include a brief introduction to the Sight Foundation. – Pawtucket location only
· Thomas Dodd of the South Coast Wheelchair Tennis Foundation will discuss how wheelchair tennis clinics are geared toward people with mobility disabilities i.e. spinal cord injuries, amputees, spinal cord diseases, etc. Whether a beginner or a more advanced tennis player or just interested in learning more, please join us. – Pawtucket location only
As part of OSCIL’s mission to provide outreach, education and opportunities for peer support, OSCIL offers these FREE Lunch and Learn workshops highlighting various solutions that can increase access in your home and community.
Advance registration is required. Please call 738-1013 if you plan to attend either session. Seating is Limited. Lunch (pizza) will be served.
A Sign Language Interpreter and CART have been secured for these events.
*United Way’s 211 Outreach RV will be onsite at our Warwick location on June 27th to answer questions about other available resources.
