During May, OSCIL will be hosting Lunch & Learn Workshops at both OSCIL locations in Warwick and Pawtucket.

Topic: Using Assistive Technology to improve Communication and Comprehension for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing

Denise Corson of ATEL will be the presenter and will discuss the following:

Myths and misunderstandings about Hearing Loss
Assistive Technology and services that help individuals that are Deaf or Hard of Hearing communicate and comprehend.

Information on the ATEL Program. This program provides demonstrations, training, long-term loan and device reutilization services of specialized telephone equipment. 
.
This includes both landline and wireless to qualified individuals who are Deaf, Hard of Hearing, have a speech disability, or who have neuromuscular damage or disease, that hinders them from using a standard telephone.

Coming Soon to ATEL:  How to get a wireless Android Smartphone from the ATEL Program, and utilize Free Lifeline service (free monthly minutes) from SafeLink Wireless!

Wednesday, May 23, 12-2 p.m. at 1944 Warwick Ave, Warwick

Thursday, May 24, 12-2 p.m. at 175 Main Street in Pawtucket

As part of OSCIL’s mission to provide outreach, education and opportunities for peer support, OSCIL offers these FREE Lunch and Learn workshops highlighting various solutions that can increase access in your home and community.
