Addressing Increased Access in the Home
OSCIL assists individuals having disability to address personal barriers to independence in the home. In many cases, people are unaware of the vast array of assistive devices that are available to facilitate access in all areas of the home. OSCIL will provide assistance in understanding and acquiring assistive devices to increase access and independence in the home.
If there are physical barriers in the home that need to be addressed, OSCIL's Home Access/Home Modification team can provide complete assessment to find the right solution for increased access.
In some cases, people are searching for affordable, accessible housing. OSCIL works with the person to locate affordable and/or accessible housing, including subsidized apartments and assistive living facilities.
