A partner in the Assistive Technology Access Partnership (ATAP), OSCIL provides elders and persons with disabilities with information on how assistive devices may enhance their independence. OSCIL also maintains an inventory of various types of AT available to the public for short or long term loan.
The Assistive Technology Program has grown to include several devices that can assist a person having disability to address barriers to independence. Solutions to address mobility and balance issues are available. Eligibility requirements for this program are:
· The presence of a disability
· Motivation to actively participate in the independent living program the individual needs to request the service, not a caregiver)
· Must meet income guidelines. (if not met, OSCIL will assist in locating other resources.)

For those wishing to come to our Center, there will be professional staff available to determine which assistive device is appropriate. A doctor's note, to assure safety, is required for all mobility devices such as walkers, canes, etc.
